AARO publishes the FY2025 Consolidated Annual Report on UAP.
The delayed unclassified report covers events from June 2,
2024 through May 30, 2025. AARO received 319 reports and
resolved 114 of them; it also closed 256 older cases during
the reporting period. All resolved cases were attributed to
prosaic objects. A newly onboarded analysis capability
accounted for 238 satellite-flaring resolutions across the
broader caseload. Nine reports required further partner
analysis, while 191 entered the active archive because they
lacked sufficient corroborating data; that status is not a
determination of anomalous origin.
The Department of War publishes the fourth tranche of
declassified and historical records under the Presidential
Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE).
The official portal labels the material as unresolved; that
status can reflect insufficient data and does not establish
an anomalous origin.
AARO adds Naval Postgraduate School CTX special issue on UAP
science and analysis.
AARO lists a Naval Postgraduate School special issue of the
Combating Terrorism Exchange journal as new content. The
issue includes an AARO director interview and articles on
data vetting, event-based sensing, observation analysis, and
practical photography; individual articles retain their own
methods and limits.
Reporting describes an ODNI UAP Governance Board meeting;
external Science Advisory Council announced.
The Associated Press and MeriTalk report, citing ODNI, that
the office established an interagency UAP Governance Board
and that it first met in June. Harvard astrophysicist Avi
Loeb separately assembled an external UAP Science Advisory
Council to provide analysis and advice. The council describes
an unclassified, publication-oriented remit. No ODNI-hosted
charter or official membership record was located as of July
16, 2026.
Department of War publishes PURSUE Releases 02 and 03.
The Department of War publishes the second (May 22) and third (June 12) tranches of declassified records under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) initiative. The declassified files, hosted on the official portal, contain historic documents, FBI reports, NASA audio, and videos of unresolved anomalous events.
Department of War opens PURSUE UAP file-release portal.
The Department of War announces the initial release of
UAP-related files under the Presidential Unsealing and
Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE). The release is
described as a multiagency effort involving the White House,
ODNI, DOE, AARO, NASA, FBI, and additional intelligence
components. Files were reviewed for security purposes; many
materials have not yet been analyzed for anomaly resolution.
House Oversight requests 46 specific UAP video files from the
Department of War.
The Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets
publishes a March 31 letter to Secretary Pete Hegseth
requesting delivery of named UAP video files no later than Apr
14, 2026. This is an oversight request, not a public release;
public disclosure or a formal response remains unconfirmed.
Pentagon confirms Executive Order on UAP file release is in
preparation.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth confirmed Feb 24–25, 2026
that the Pentagon was "working on it right now" in response to
Trump's Feb 19 directive. At that stage, an Executive Order
was described as forthcoming, and no public file release had
occurred.
The Department later stated AARO was coordinating with the
White House and federal agencies on existing UAP records
collections; the initial PURSUE release followed on May 8,
2026.
President publicly directs review and release of UAP records.
President Trump publicly directed the Department of Defense
and other federal agencies to identify and begin releasing
government files related to UAP and extraterrestrial life.
The Department later described its May 8 PURSUE release as
following that direction. No numbered executive order or
separately published directive was identified during the
July 16 review.
AARO publishes 2025 UAP Workshop synthesis on narrative data
and infrastructure.
AARO adds a workshop paper summarizing August 2025 discussions
with government, academic, and independent research
participants. The paper focuses on standardizing narrative
reports, metadata, data linkage, AI-assisted triage, and
limits from classification, privacy, bias, and provenance.
FAA Notice N 7110.800 expires; UAP terminology permanently
incorporated into JO 7110.65BB.
Notice N 7110.800 (effective Oct 26, 2025) reached its stated
cancellation date Jan 22, 2026. UAP reporting language —
replacing "UFO" with "UAP" in paragraphs 1-2-6 and 9-8-1 — was
permanently incorporated into base order JO 7110.65BB (issued
Feb 20, 2025). Terminology change is now standing ATC
procedure.
Reporting describes requirements for expanded briefings on UAP
intercepts (including retroactive reporting back to Jan. 1,
2004) and accounting for classification guides governing UAP
reporting/investigations.
FAA replaces "UFO" with "UAP" and updates ATC reporting
procedures.
FAA Notice N 7110.800 (effective Oct 26, 2025; cancellation
date Jan 22, 2026) amends FAA Order JO 7110.65: "UFO" is
replaced by "UAP", and controllers must inform the operations
supervisor/CIC of reported or observed UAP activity.
Canada: Sky Canada final report on public UAP reporting.
The Office of the Chief Science Advisor publishes its final
report on how Canadian organizations receive and manage public
UAP reports. It identifies fragmented reporting and limited
follow-up, then presents fourteen recommendations. The report
does not investigate individual sightings or assess claims of
extraterrestrial origin.
U.S. Senate publishes transcript of AARO oversight hearing.
The official transcript records testimony from AARO Director
Jon Kosloski before the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on
Emerging Threats and Capabilities. It covers reporting totals,
data limits, case resolutions, satellite flaring, and plans
for public reporting. Statements in the hearing record are
attributed testimony, not independent verification.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence submitted
the UAP Task Force's preliminary assessment to Congress. The
report describes the available reporting set, data-quality
limits, and categories considered during review. Publication
establishes the assessment as an official record; it does not
establish an extraordinary origin for any case.
DoD authorizes release of three historical Navy videos.
The Department of Defense formally released three unclassified
Navy videos recorded in 2004 and 2015 after the clips had
circulated publicly. The release authenticates the videos as
Navy material; the DoD statement does not identify the
phenomena or validate later claims attached to the clips.

The House Intelligence subcommittee received public testimony
from Ronald Moultrie and Scott Bray on Defense Department UAP
reporting, analysis, and oversight. The event page and

record is not independent verification of every statement or
case discussed.
Organizer-run UAP Disclosure Forum held in a Senate office
building.
The Disclosure Foundation hosts a public forum titled
"Humanity at the Edge of Discovery" in the Russell Senate
Office Building. The organizer lists members of Congress,
researchers, and former intelligence officials as
participants. This was not a congressional hearing or
committee proceeding; the available source is the organizer's
event portal.
Obama's viral "they're real" joke was followed by a
clarification that he saw no evidence of alien contact during
his presidency and said the odds of visits are low.
CNN reports on a circulated "disc-shaped UAP" video.
CNN presents a video shared by Jeremy Corbell as reportedly
recorded by the U.S. military in 2020. The segment documents
the public framing; it does not establish the object's origin
or the file's provenance.
Galileo Project preprint on UAP mass-density limits.
Harvard's Galileo Project publishes a preprint proposing a
method to derive an empirical lower limit on the mass density
of accelerating UAPs from infrared luminosity and kinematics.
This is an academic preprint, not an official government
finding.
RAND maps geographic patterns in 101,151 public UAP reports.
RAND analyzes NUFORC reports from 1998 through 2022 and finds
the most consistent association near military operations
areas. The authors discuss reporting-system design and warn
that the analysis does not endorse individual reports or the
accuracy of the underlying database.
