Department of War opens PURSUE UAP file-release portal.
The Department of War announces the initial release of
UAP-related files under the Presidential Unsealing and
Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE). The release is
described as a multiagency effort involving the White House,
ODNI, DOE, AARO, NASA, FBI, and additional intelligence
components. Files were reviewed for security purposes; many
materials have not yet been analyzed for anomaly resolution.
House Oversight requests 46 specific UAP video files from the
Department of War.
The Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets
publishes a March 31 letter to Secretary Pete Hegseth
requesting delivery of named UAP video files no later than Apr
14, 2026. This is an oversight request, not a public release;
public disclosure or a formal response remains unconfirmed.
Pentagon confirms Executive Order on UAP file release is in
preparation.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth confirmed Feb 24–25, 2026
that the Pentagon was "working on it right now" in response to
Trump's Feb 19 directive. At that stage, an Executive Order
was described as forthcoming, and no public file release had
occurred.
The Department later stated AARO was coordinating with the
White House and federal agencies on existing UAP records
collections; the initial PURSUE release followed on May 8,
2026.
Presidential directive on UAP records declassification.
A presidential directive is issued to the Department of
Defense and other federal agencies to begin identifying and
releasing government files related to UAP and extraterrestrial
life. This initiates a federal declassification process; the
first public PURSUE file release followed on May 8, 2026.
AARO publishes 2025 UAP Workshop synthesis on narrative data
and infrastructure.
AARO adds a workshop paper summarizing August 2025 discussions
with government, academic, and independent research
participants. The paper focuses on standardizing narrative
reports, metadata, data linkage, AI-assisted triage, and
limits from classification, privacy, bias, and provenance.
FAA Notice N 7110.800 expires; UAP terminology permanently
incorporated into JO 7110.65BB.
Notice N 7110.800 (effective Oct 26, 2025) reached its stated
cancellation date Jan 22, 2026. UAP reporting language —
replacing "UFO" with "UAP" in paragraphs 1-2-6 and 9-8-1 — was
permanently incorporated into base order JO 7110.65BB (issued
Feb 20, 2025). Terminology change is now standing ATC
procedure.
Reporting describes requirements for expanded briefings on UAP
intercepts (including retroactive reporting back to Jan. 1,
2004) and accounting for classification guides governing UAP
reporting/investigations.
AARO/ODNI Consolidated Annual Report on UAP (FY2025) —
mandated, not yet published.

FAA Notice N 7110.800 (effective Oct 26, 2025; cancellation

Harvards Galileo Project publishes a preprint proposing a
methodology to derive an empirical lower limit on the "mass
