About the archive

This page records the editorial rules, privacy limits and correction process behind the public archive.

Editorial position

UAP is treated as a subject and reporting category, not as a conclusion about origin. Official publication establishes that a document or statement exists. It does not validate every claim inside it. Testimony remains attributed testimony, and "unresolved" describes the available analysis rather than an extraordinary explanation.

Selection policy

  • Every archive entry needs a clear date, source role and reachable citation.
  • Primary and official material is preferred. Secondary reporting is used only when it adds necessary public context.
  • The archive holds dated records and public events. The resources page holds stable tools, forms, databases and reference material.
  • Inclusion is selective, not exhaustive. Repetition, weak provenance and items without a distinct archival role are reasons to leave material out.
  • Discovery and link checks may use software, but publication and wording remain manual editorial decisions.

AI-assisted work

AI tools may assist with drafting, comparison, link checking and technical maintenance. Nothing is published automatically. The operator reviews the substance, checks cited sources, and may alter or reject drafts. Final editorial responsibility remains with the operator.

Synthetic media is not presented as documentary evidence. Any AI-generated or manipulated image, audio or video that could reasonably appear authentic will be clearly labelled when first displayed.

Data & privacy practices

Infrastructure & logs Privacy

This site is run independently by one person and makes no money. There are no tracking scripts, analytics, or ads.

Log minimization: Hosting/CDN providers (e.g., Cloudflare) may log basic routing data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, referrer) for operations, security, and DDoS mitigation.

Contact email and attachments Contact

If you use the contact address, I receive your email address, message content, and any attachments you choose to include. Please do not send passwords, private keys, illegal content, or anything classified/restricted.

Publication policy: I do not publish private submissions, names, or identifying details. If I ever want to quote or publish any part of a private submission, I will ask for explicit written permission first.

Retention, deletion requests Strict

Retention target: Incoming messages and attachments are normally deleted after handling, typically within 30 days. A thread may remain longer while a correction or follow-up is unresolved.

Deletion requests: Send an email from the same address, or use a signed PGP message, with subject DELETE and a short identifier (date and excerpt). I'll delete the message from the active mailbox when I can identify it.

This target does not cover provider backups, delivery logs or copies held by third-party mail systems, which I cannot control.

Removal / correction requests Admin

If a record on this site violates your privacy, misidentifies you or your organization, or requires a factual correction from an involved party, use the contact page.

Include: page URL (optional #section), what to change/remove, and why (privacy, safety, error, rights). Privacy and safety requests may require removal. Factual errors are corrected with a source where possible. Disagreement alone does not automatically remove a documented public record.

Subject: CORRECTION (for FAQ/resources/archive/handbook errors).

Press, legal or official requests: include an affiliation and the exact requested change.

Note: The CORRECTION subject is for factual, privacy, safety and rights issues. General feedback can use a standard subject line.

Contact details: Contact.

Corrections log

This log records material factual corrections and public-facing functional errors. Routine additions, design refinements, and source updates remain in the home maintenance log or repository history.

Four resource descriptions corrected after source review.

The AARO reporting-trends coverage date was updated from January 15 to June 15, 2026. EASA was re-described as a guidance and route entry point rather than the reporting system itself. Brazil's National Archives entry now distinguishes the current holdings overview's 1952–2019 coverage from an older article's 1952–2016 catalogue statement, replacing an unsupported 2023 endpoint. Chile's SEFAA guidance now states that original audiovisual evidence is strongly requested rather than calling it mandatory.

Unsupported claim about a current Peruvian UAP office removed.

A resource entry described an active Peruvian investigation office (DIFAA). No current official source was located for that status, so the entry was removed rather than reworded. The neighbouring Uruguay entry (CRIDOVNI) was kept, but now states its historical status explicitly and links a stable 2020 government record.

Six resource descriptions corrected after a source re-read.

A reachable link is not a current description. Six entries described their source inaccurately or referred to a superseded state: UK CAA occurrence reporting, Argentina CIAE, the Sky Canada report (since completed), preliminary CADORS data, the 2022 ODNI context, and CelesTrak data provenance. Descriptions and routes were corrected against the sources.

Technical operation

Architecture: This project runs as a small static site. No third-party scripts, analytics, or external asset loads. Active local assets use browser SRI hashes. A restrictive content security policy limits which scripts, styles, and connections the browser may accept.

Email encryption: The contact pubkey.asc (Fingerprint: C7D7 AD66 228D 6361 BFE6 D200 8F0E E351 1204 424B) remains available for encrypting contact email. It is not used as a website release or deployment key.

Hosting data: The site operator does not use visitor analytics. The infrastructure provider may process routing and security data such as IP address, user agent and timestamp under its own systems and policies.

Contact

Contact is a secondary administrative route for corrections, source notes or general messages. It is not an emergency, investigative or official reporting service.

The contact page reveals the email address and provides an optional PGP key. Do not send classified, illegal or doxxing material.
